Limantos Residence: A Fusion of Rationalist Architecture and Nature

This residence, located in the steep slopes of St. Paul, draws inspiration from the iconic work of Mies van der Rohe, particularly the Barcelona Pavilion built for the 1929 Universal Exposition. Just like the pavilion, the Limantos Residence seamlessly integrates with the landscape, creating a sense of harmony and connection.

One of the unique features of this design is the helical staircase, which provides access to the mezzanine where the home theater, gym, and terrace with a fireplace are located. The lower level of the house is dedicated to the intimate spaces, with room for children and three suites. The circulation is cleverly distributed through a broad hall, leading to the master and guest bathrooms and the living room closet.

The living room effortlessly connects to the dining room through a glass panel, allowing for a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. The dining room itself features a door window that opens directly to the outside, further blurring the boundaries between the interior and the surrounding landscape.

The materials used in the construction of the Limantos Residence include concrete, steel, and glass. These choices not only contribute to the sleek and modern aesthetic of the design but also ensure durability and longevity.

With a total area of 777m², this residence is a testament to Fernanda Marques' expertise in creating spaces that are both functional and visually striking.
